History of Stuttgart



The History of Stuttgart dates back to the 1st century AD when the Romans took over from Alemanni, the Germaic tribe who inhabited the area around Stuttgart. The Romans were followed by The Frankish Empire, the Carolingians and Charlemagne.

The duchy of Swabia, took over the region comprising of Southern Germany and parts of Switzerland and France in the 9th Century AD.
